Program / Project Description:

Our client is the primary integrator for the government customer. 

Day to Day:

As a Cyber Security System Administrator, you will be responsible for  Windows and/or Linux system administration experience  supporting multiple servers in a diverse client/server computing environments, as well as taking steps to safeguard the systems to make sure they are meeting security requirements. You will be performing security analysis of operational environments, threats, vulnerabilities and interfaces to define and assess compliance to accepted industry and government standards investigating security related issues and anomalies, as well as evaluating required security controls and defining/implementing products/processes/procedures to be compliant.

Other responsibilities will include: 
  • System Architecture and design; Cyber product evaluation and selection 
  • Monitoring system performance to support capacity planning, 
  • Maintaining awareness of and participate in planning and execution of upgrades and patches for operating systems and COTS software. 
  • Integration of security solutions into information systems 
  • Managing end of service life status on all hardware and software and developing mitigation plans as needed 
  • Evaluating the results of various security scans and developing mitigation approaches or waiver requests
  • Evaluate, communicate, and mitigate computing and information security risks by ensuring appropriate processes are in place and followed so that systems are compliant with applicable requirements.
  • Documenting system designs, procedures and training materials

  • BS and at least 5+ Windows or Linux system administration experience  supporting multiple servers in a diverse client/server computing environment  
  • Experienced with virtual server design and implementation (ex. VMware, ESXi Server, vSphere Server, vCenter Server experience)
  • Experience evaluating controls under the Risk Management Framework and implementing systems and processes to meet customer requirements
  • Must have experience with security standards, such as security analysis, establishing safeguards to protect information to meet security requirements, investigating security related issues and anomalies, etc.

  • Project management aptitude to lead activities and projects
  • Knowledge of disk partitions, RAID, and file system maintenance including ZFS and NFS
  • Strong oral communication skills and experience briefing senior management on technical issues and problem resolution
  • Experience with Windows and or Linux system hardening and secure architectures
  • Knowledge of verification, validation, certification and accreditation processes and procedures
  • Cloud experience
