HIM Instructional Designer
Epic HIM Instructional Designer
This client is live with Epic 2015 and working on a major install on the Revenue Cycle side with HIM and Professional Billing. They recently started the effort and currently need a strong Instructional designer who is an expert at creating all of the necessary course material in support of HIM.
Currently the hospital uses several legacy systems for HIM support. These legacy systems will sunset as Epic is installed although they just started the hospital wants to start with the instructional design work right away. Currently the hospital uses the legacy HIM for basic deficiency tracking and medical recording. As the hospital works on this install this person will likely get pulled into some of the early validation meetings and general mapping efforts as they focus on what parts of HIM will be used.
As a senior ID this person must be Epic 2015 certified with HIM as an Instructional designer/trainer. If the person has been a build analyst that will be a great plus but 100% of this role will be instructional design and course development. This person will create all the necessary course materials using traditional development tools, if they have worked with Articulate for eLearning creation that would be a good plus but not required. This person must be a hands on expert with course material creation from scratch and documentation, they must also understand how to cater those materials to match what the hospital needs in particular. As an HIM expert in training the person will likely spend 100% of the time on the materials development and not the classroom training side.
For HIM the focus areas are coding abstraction, computer assisted coding, clinical documentation, deficiency tracking, medical recording, and the rest of the HIM offered functionality.
