Our client is the primary integrator for the government customer. The team is looking to add an IT Hardware Technologist to the team to plan, design, develop and verify lifecycle balanced infrastructure solutions for operational programs of vital importance to our customers
Day to Day:
The IT Hardware Technologist will be responsible for the deployment and maintenance of technologies, which includes assembly and installation of hardware including Windows Desktop and Server Operating Systems (e.g. Windows 7, 8, 10, Server 2008 R2, Server 2012 R2) and Linux Operating Systems (e.g. CentOS 7, RedHat Enterprise Linux 7). They will be responsible for the configuration of the operating systems.
The successful candidate should not be afraid to get their hands dirty and be able to rack and stack, set up servers, run cables, etc. This is a great segue for anyone that wants to get more experience with Linux operating systems and wants to be a System Administrator. They will be in an environment that uses VMWare, ESXi and vCenter.
They will also be working with device drivers, audio and video system, networks, SAN, and making sure security configurations are compliant with ICD 503.
- Must have experience in assembly and installation of hardware (Windows, Linux)
- Experience with backing up servers
- Experience installing racks and running cables
