PeopleSoft Compensation SME
PeopleSoft Compensation SME
This organization is live with PeopleSoft 9.2 for all of HCM and Payroll. They currently use the compensation module, but need to make some changes based on external policies. The organization currently needs a very strong Compensation Expert, this person needs to know both the compensation module and the actual business application and set up of comp.
This organization currently uses the PeopleSoft Compensation module, but will need to make a variety of changes to the system based on FLSA changes and general comp changes. Before they can make any changes to the system they need a senior compensation expert that can help them from the business side and then work with the appropriate functional and technical folks in order to ensure the “ suggested changes” and operate/work within the rules of PeopleSoft. The client knows the system will need to be customized, but not sure to what degree so it is important this person has actual compensation expertise.
On the compensation side this person needs to be an expert with compensation plans, market analysis, how to create compensation plans for organizations. They need to understand the regulations with the FLSA and MUST be knowledgeable with the new white collar exemption rules. This particular issue will require heavy research and working with the team on how the compensation module will be able to account for this new policy. This expert needs to have done market analysis, compensation for hourly vs salaried, salary grades, ranges, what the market can bares, etc. This person will need to provide guidance and assistance in implementing base pay and job classifications within PeopleSoft, handle data analysis, handle regulatory and other external disclosures, and management reporting. The person will do data collection, analysis, and monitoring of data to identify business needs, perform trend calculations, and provide recommendations and consultation which guides decisions
As a Comp expert on the PeopleSoft side of things they will need to understand the module, the setup, limitations it comes with, the rules of how the compensation module works. They will not need to do any configuration or FLC work outside of extensive requirement gathering and research as this is not a configuration role. However without PeopleSoft expertise this person will now know if all the research and requirements will meet or even work within the PeopleSoft system without overly customizing to a point of executive management forcing HR to do things manually. This role really needs someone who as a business person is a true compensation expert, but knows the delivered functionality and ability of PeopleSoft Compensation an what it is capable of handling and accounting for.
