Senior Information Security Analyst

Project Description: The client is a large A&D organization that are in need of a Senior Information Security Analyst to join their team.


Day to Day Responsibilities: On a daily basis, the Senior IS Analyst will be performing reviews in the client’ s security system to make sure no malicious acts have happened. They will review the alerts specifically within McAfee. They will be using NSW, DLP (Data Leakage Prevention), checkpoint anti-bot, and antivirus tools. Within DLP, they will monitor that no data is leaving any organization (example: a full time employee takes 250 health records from their computer and loads it onto a USB).

The Senior IS Analyst will maintain up-to-date detailed knowledge of the IT security industry including awareness of new or revised security solutions, improved security processes and the development of new attacks and threat vectors. They will recommend additional security solutions or enhancements to existing IT solutions to improve overall enterprise security. They will also be responsible for virus response and process oversight along with the spam control process and review. They will identify and evaluate information security issues in new applications and security vulnerabilities and threat vectors, along with identify/monitor/manage solution implementation. They will assist with audit deficiency remediation and support audit requests. The Senior IS Analyst will have technical knowledge in McAfee' s Enterprise Security Suite, Windows Operating Systems, Linux, Internet technologies, networking technologies and Encryption technologies. They also will be responsible for data loss prevention response, process, and oversight.


Required Skills:

IT Security


FLP, Encryption, Antivirus, NSM

Specific knowledge related to HIPAA, PCI DSS, SOX, ITAR and Safe Harbor compliance

Demonstrated experience understanding and assessing information security vulnerabilities and threats and to confidently make recommendations for remediation

Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

Up-to-date knowledge of hacking techniques and attack vectors

Familiar with ISO 27000 security standards

Proven analytical and problem solving skills

Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to work and communicate with internal customers, teams and external parties

Willingness and ability to provide IT security direction and/or mentoring wherever applicable

One or more advanced Security certifications demonstrating a broad knowledge of the information security field such as CISSP, SCCP, ISSAP, CISA, CISM, GSEC

One or more additional IT certifications meeting DoD Directive 8570.1 Level II requirements (GSEC, Security+, SCNP, SSCP, CISA, GSE, SCNA, CISSP, CAP, GSLC, CISM, CISSP-ISSAP)
