SAP SCM Analyst
SAP SCM (WM, QM, PP) Analyst
Overview: The client has recently completed a migration from Oracle to SAP and requires an SAP SCM Analyst to assist immediately.
Description: The group the consultant will be working within spans SAP SCM and more specifically the areas of WM, IM, QM, PP & MRP. This group is currently focused on gutting what types of reporting they want to see, the types of business processes to run, etc. The client leverages a global corporate model out of Europe, which is important to note since it constrains the ability of the team at this site from making changes to a significant degree and will ultimately play a large role in the roles & responsibilities of the person hired, as will become evident below.
The engagement will revolve around stabilizing the current state and modifying what they can control under the perimeters of the global model. About 20% of the work will deal with the latter changes they want to make but can’ t without approval / help from the folks in Europe, going through and mapping out areas / opportunities for improvements, how making those changes will affect other areas and presenting a business case to gain approval to make those changes. The execution of those significant changes will not be a responsibility of the consultant hired, although smaller changes they are able to make may be. They already have the inputs and outputs in place, so if certain things aren’ t occurring it’ s about determining the root cause, brainstorming ways to improve and moving that up the chain for larger modifications. Likewise, the client is looking for someone who can work well with end users; i.e. someone who can quickly extract needs from a largely inexperienced SAP user base, advise them accordingly and ultimately provide avenues for improvement.
