Program/Project Description:

The program that supports the customer' s internal systems and this group’ s mission is order to detect anomalies happening within their systems and to ensure a secure environment.  This a growing Cyber Security area within the customer and continues to gain more and more notoriety and exposure within the highest levels of the customer.  Their environment consists of Solaris/Unix, VMWare ESX, VSphere, and VCenter, RedHat Linux, Ancible, Puppet, Chef, Zookeeper, SAN for several large enterprise enclaves.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Candidate will be primarily responsible for keeping the infrastructure systems within the environment to keep them up and running 99+% of the time, including patching, upgrades, integrations, etc.
  • General understanding of virtual technologies with prior implementation experience (e.g., VMWare, AWS, Hyper-V, etc.)
  • Unix / Linux System (Workstation and Server) Patching and patch management
  • Unix / Linux System Security Configuration
  • Basic understanding of common network communication protocols
  • PowerShell Scripting or Basic shell or other scripting experience (CSH, KSH, SH, PERL, etc…)
  • Develops documentation on new or existing systems.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system problems.

  • Building UNIX/Linux Servers from ground-up
  • Unix Root Directory navigation, such as GREPS and VIEWS.
  • Solaris OS v10 or v11
  • Solaris Zoning feature (which is basically the VMWare of Solaris)
  • IAVA/patching; particularly on HP and SUN hardware

  • KickStart / JumpStart
  • Storage; particularly SAN and ZFS
  • General working knowledge of networking
