Program Description:

Our client is prime on a program to support the nations highest priority space program including missile defense, battlespace awareness, missile warning and technical intelligence. The team is looking to bring Dev Ops Engineer on board immediately.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

The DevOps engineer will will design, develop, and test software solutions across our contracted efforts in support of our ground system software, supporting multiple baselines in defect resolution as well as enhancements, special projects, new business initiatives, and modernization efforts within our development environment. They will work in a team environment, potentially supporting multiple projects. In this role the candidate will design, code, integrate and resolve problems in software.

The engineer will support Amazon Web Services (AWS) GovCloud, AWS Public, and Cloud Compute Service (C2S) environments. You will be expected to support all aspects of the environment and products life cycle to include cloud infrastructure and security stand up and accreditation, continuous automation and integration, and product release and support. You will need to be familiar with containerization techniques and Jenkins. As a DevOps Engineer you will also need familiarization with python, Java, C++, and bash.The candidate should be familiar working in Linux/UNIX environment.

Required:
  • Experience in a DevOps environment
  • Understanding of Continuous Integration and Full Life Cycle Automation
  • AWS/C2S Security Compliance
  • Chef, Jenkins, GitLab build and deployment
  • Experience in Linux/Unix and AWS Administration.

Desired:
  • Experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef or an equivalent.
  • Strong experience with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes
  • A working understanding of code and script (Java, C++, Python, Perl and/or Scala).
  • Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service.
  • A strong technical background and clearly demonstrated experience with current technologies.
  • Demonstrated understanding of agile development within a scrum team.
