Kronos Software Development Engineer

The client is currently live on Kronos WFC v6.3 globally for a variety of modules including but not limited to Timekeeping, Attendance, Scheduler, Analytics, among others. The existing Kronos system has a population of around 700K employees and is highly customized. The HR Technology team  has  several projects in the roadmap they need assistance with including but not limited to implementing Kronos in new countries, developing and  building new tools (including testing tools), as well as doing several enhancements to the system. They currently need assistance with development/programming work to develop new tools from scratch.

The client is in need of a Software Development Engineer  who can come in and hit the ground running with all aspects of development using Java and Python. They should be familiar with the full software development life cycle (SDLC). The requirements have already been gathered and the design has already been done for this work, so this person will be 100% focused development and coding work. This person must be able to read and write code using  Java and/or Python. Java is most important then Python is a close second. This person can be either an SDE or an SDET.

The group that this person will be joining predominantly handles QA work. Because of this, this person will be developing new testing tools from scratch using the above programming languages so if they have any experience building testing tools in the past that is a plus, but is not required.

The group they will be joining does both manual testing and automation so it would be nice if this person comes from a background of QA Testing, manual, automation, etc. From a QA Perspective, this group tends to look for people who are hungry to build things from scratch. If this person does not have QA experience that is OKAY but since this person will be working very closely with QA Testers it is nice if they have this experience in their background.

· 4-6+ years of experience and demonstrated strong proficiency in Java and/or Python programming language (Java is most important)
· Demonstrated understanding of how and where risk is introduced during software development
· Experience designing and developing test frameworks and tools in Java
· Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build and release processes, continuous deployment, * and test suite development and maintenance
· Familiarity with Java unit-testing framework
· Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
· Excellent written and spoken communication
· Bachelor' s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or 4+ year relevant work experience

· Kronos Experience
· AWS Knowledge
· Experience with standard QA tools and practices, such as functional API testing, integration testing, and UI functionality and usability testing, with a passion for automation
