Program / Project Description:

Our client has a project within the T3 (Machine Shop) organization where they are taking the Open Shift Origin (an open source product from RedHat), customizing it, implementing it and adding new functionality to it.  This is very similar to providing updates to the customer Infrastructure Cloud Utility and adding a lot of new functionality to the Cloud.  More specifically, the project is to implement “ OPEN SHIFT”, which is an Open Source product called Platform as a Service (PaaS) and is based in Ruby or Rails, vs “ OPEN STACK”, which is an Open Source product called Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).  At its core, instead of provisioning VM’ s, it provisions applications using SC Linux constructs to be able to wall off users on the VM.  The customer is also looking to host production services on Open Shift and are trying to tailor this to the customer’ s needs.  They want to provide the customer with Passport, so they need to integrate Open Shift with Passport for the PKI system, and there are Software packages that need to be available to the end users.  They also need to figure out how to leverage the data and authenticate it using Passport.  They are looking at integrating continuous integrations and one of the cartridges is Jenkins, which has Git set up.
