Medical Device R&D Engineering SME (Proof of Concept)

Our client is a large Medical Device manufacturer.  They develop and manufacture a number of Class II & III implantable products. They are currently in need of a an R&D Engineering Expert to create a Proof of Concept for the integration of a fingerprinting technology into all of their non-sterile implantable medical device products.

Project Scope &  Responsibilities:

Our Medical Device client has recently identified an organization which  they would like to partner with in hopes of integrating/re-purpose  the organization' s Fingerprinting technology into all of their Class II & III Implantable Medical Devices in an effort to meet new EU UDI regulatory requirements. As such, they are in need of an R&D Engineering Expert, with a heavy emphasis on early-stage  Medical Device Development, Proof of Concept, and conceptualizing various applications of the 3rd party organization' s  Fingerprinting technology into our client' s  medical devices.

This individual will work closely with our our client' s  3rd party organization to gather technical requirements information about this fingerprinting solution (as well as with our client to gather medical device product specifications), to create a Proof of Concept, and conduct feasibility studies which support the Proof of Concept. This individual  will  bring a combination of technical early-stage medical device R&D experience and an understanding of software requirements, along with customer-facing interpersonal  skills. The candidate should be ability to understand and communicate complex design concepts, prepare and conduct demos/proof of concepts to demonstrate various use cases, create technical content to show customers how to implement specific use cases or best practices. Additional responsibilities may include: researching design options and performing experiments to determine potential design feasibility, interact with global and internal design and manufacturing resources to design for manufacturability, reliability, cost-effectiveness and conformance to UDI standards.
