The client is currently using PeopleSoft for Payroll and Kronos for Timekeeping and Scheduling (Advanced Scheduler). They are in the process of migrating their Payroll system to Workday right now. Their internal team is focused on the Workday project and they are in need of a Payroll analyst to assist with processing Payroll using PeopleSoft and supporting the end users with questions around Payroll and Kronos Timekeeping.
The organization recently upgraded their Kronos system to version 8 in the cloud. They are also on version 9.2 for PeopleSoft.
Day to Day:
The day to day of this person' s role will be 100% on the business side of things in the Payroll department. This person will be involved in processing Payroll using PeopleSoft as well as working with end users on how to use the Kronos Timekeeping system.
As a payroll specialist, this person will be very hands on. From the payroll side this includes but is not limited to: weekly & bi-weekly payroll runs, taxes, deductions, 401k, bonus, benefits, using Kronos Timekeeping and Advanced Scheduler, hourly/salaried, 20, 000 or more employee environment, union, and non-union.
From a timekeeping perspective, this person will be working very closely with the end users to help answer any questions they may have. Often times, the end users have questions on how to enter their time into Kronos; this person will be the main point of contact in the Payroll department that will help them answer these types of questions. Other questions the end users might ask will be around how to navigate around Kronos, how to set up schedules, etc.
This person will join the organization on the business side of things vs the IT side so they must be comfortable working from a business perspective.
While they are in the process of implementing Workday, they are still using PeopleSoft for Payroll until they go live on Workday later this year. This person will help process payroll using PeopleSoft until they go live on Workday. Once they get live on Workday, this person will likely transition and will begin to process payroll using Workday but that is not until later this year/early next year.
This role needs a Payroll Specialist that is 100% comfortable being hands on, doing support, and running the day to day tasks of the business including running payroll. The person will spend the majority of the time as the go to Payroll/Timekeeping person on a small support team. The person will handle some basic enhancements, troubleshooting, tickets, support, etc.
- Payroll Processing (either Workday or PeopleSoft)
- Experience helping end users on how to use the Kronos system
- Payroll & Timekeeping Business Knowledge
- Perfect communication skills as they will be helping end users who are not as proficient on PeopleSoft or Kronos as they are.
