PeopleSoft Integrations Developer

Background:

The client is currently live on PeopleSoft HCM v9.2 and PeopleTools 8.55 for Core HR, ESS, MSS, Payroll Interface, and Benefits Interface (Benefits and Payroll  is outsourced to a 3rd party company). The client is in the process of migrating to Workday. Because the plan is to eventually decommission PeopleSoft, they need to hire integration specialists who can come is and remove the integrations from PeopleSoft. These consultants will take the integrations that are currently connected to PeopleSoft and connect them to internal custom applications.

Responsibilities:

The consultant will come in and hit the ground running with breaking down the integrations that are currently within PeopleSoft. The integrations were originally built using AWS and Java so they need someone with strong AWS and Java experience and knowledge to be able to properly understand what is happening with the integrations.

Because they will be working in a live environment (PeopleSoft) they need seasoned developers who have worked on integrations in a live environment before. The candidate that gets hired should have several years of experience building integrations using Java and AWS.

The PeopleSoft system that this candidate will be working in is extremely customized so they need candidates who are up for a challenge and thrive working on very complex integrations. Ideally, they want candidates who started their career out in PeopleSoft development but ended up working on custom development of integrations.

This role is a 100% developer job doing heads down coding. The client needs a consultant who is comfortable doing heads down coding. Java development is the most important part of this job and AWS is the second most important part. If this person has not done hands on/heads down Java coding they will not be a good fit.

Ideally this resource would have done Java development within an HR system in the past but if they are very strong with Java coding and do not have experience with HR systems that is OK.

Candidates MUST have experience with the following aspects of the software development lifecycle:
  • Object Oriented Programming
  • Data Structures
  • Java Coding
  • Unit Testing
  • Code Quality and Best Practices

  • Experience taking integrations from an off the shelf application such as PeopleSoft and moving them to a custom in house built application
