Our client is prime on a program that is looking for highly motivated personnel with some IT background who can join the program' s 24/7 Operations team.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
The System Admin will join a team that is responsible for Tier 2 operational support of a mission-critical Enterprise Identity & Access Management system. The position includes operational monitoring and management of Linux servers and COTS software, as well as acting as a Help Desk for users who need assistance. As the system gains more consumers, we continue to meet the high demand to provide cutting-edge technology to our customer and their partner organizations.
The System Admin will troubleshoot system incidents, assist users with system problems, and coordinate with Tier 1 and Tier 2 support, mission partners and end users. What is important to note is that this person will have to walk users through issues via phone or computer, they won’ t have the ability to help users troubleshoot in person or remote into their system, so excellent communication skills are important.
They will also be responsible for analyzing system performance and fixing issues if needed. The Admin will monitor and report meaningful metrics and develop/update support documentation and Standard Operating Procedures
- BS + with 1-4 years of hands on experience as a System Administrator
- Strong background in providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 support to users via phone or virtually
- Experience with troubleshooting system incidents, documentation and Standard Operating Procedures
- Linux/UNIX experience
